🔹 Overview

This policy applies to the hire/rental of equipment supplied by Pullen Power Ltd.

As we provide temporary hire services, our policy focuses on cancellation, termination of contract, and early cessation of hire, rather than “returns.”


🔹 Cooling-Off & Contract Cancellation

If you place an order online (distance selling), you may be entitled to a 14-day cooling-off period before the hire period begins (per UK consumer regulations).

However, once the hire period has started, or equipment has been delivered, the cooling-off period no longer applies.

This is because:

  • Hire contracts begin when goods are allocated and prepared for delivery.

  • Delivery, scheduling, and servicing costs are incurred immediately.

We still operate a fair commercial cancellation policy, detailed below.


🔹 Cancellation Before the Hire Period Starts

If a cancellation request is made before delivery, dispatch, or scheduled hire start, the following applies:

  • You must notify us at: hello@pullenpower.co.uk

  • A full cancellation may be accepted subject to deductions for:

    • administrative processing costs

    • preparation and scheduling

    • cancellation at short notice (depends on lead time)

We will confirm your cancellation in writing.


🔹 Terminating the Hire Contract After Delivery / Start

If you wish to end the hire early, you may submit a contract termination request.

How to request termination:

Include:

  • Business name or customer name

  • Hire reference or proof of agreement

  • Reason for termination

Conditions:

To terminate the hire period early:

  • Equipment must be available for collection or shipment in the same condition in which it was supplied.

  • Behavioural misuse, improper operation, or damage may incur additional fees.

Once approved, collection or return instructions will be issued.


🔹 Fees & Charges for Early Contract Termination

Fees may apply if:

  • Hire period has already begun

  • Equipment has been used

  • Fuel, cables, distribution, or accessories require servicing or testing

  • Delivery and collection services have been carried out

Charges may include:

  • Remaining portion of agreed hire fee

  • Servicing/inspection costs

  • Transport and logistics costs

  • Consumables (fuel etc.)

We will always provide a transparent breakdown of costs.


🔹 Equipment Condition Requirements

Whether cancelling before hire completion or terminating early, equipment must be:

  • In the same operational state as supplied

  • Not modified or tampered with

  • Free from damage (other than reasonable operational use)

  • Returned with all accessories/cables/fittings

Failure to do so may result in deductions from final settlement.


🔹 Operational Issues, Faults or Damaged Goods

If equipment is:

  • Faulty

  • Damaged on delivery

  • Not functioning as described

We will:

  • Inspect the issue

  • Repair or replace where appropriate

  • Offer a fair settlement based on downtime or unusability

We comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for hired goods (fit for purpose, as described, of satisfactory quality).


🔹 Final Settlement & Refunds (Where Applicable)

Once early termination has been approved and equipment recovered, we will:

  1. Inspect and confirm any deductions,

  2. Issue a final settlement summary,

  3. Arrange refund (if applicable) to the original payment method.

Refunds (where due) may take up to 10 business days.

🔹 Items/Contracts Not Eligible for Cancellation

Cancellations are not accepted where:

  • Custom-configured packages were supplied

  • Hire period has been fully completed

  • Hazardous situations or safety breaches occurred

  • Tampered or opened electrical components are involved

  • Costs have already been fully incurred and fulfilled


🔹 Exchanges/Substitutions

Where substitutions are required (e.g., power capacity changes), we may accommodate, depending on vehicle/equipment availability.
This is handled case-by-case.
